Pyaar Impossibe, one sided love story

Hats off to YRF banner for producing such a simple love story, which is one sided to begin with, and how the twists and turns leads to realisation by the heroine ultimately.  The magic of producing a good movie is all about getting the audience interested in the storyline and lead them to the logical conclusion. Sounds simple but to execute it with a simple dialouge and storyline is quite difficult.

What is more impressive about the movie is that the message passed on to the viewer that original is always original and someone parading or claiming credit for invention by just stealing would ultimately pay his price when asked to prove his authenticity. How the movie goes about proving this point is the simple story of the movie.

Abhay Sharma ( Uday Chopra ) is a geek who is used to finish homework for his friends without any reciprocration. He is in love with Alisha ( Priyanka Chopra ) but is unable his express his love for the fear of rejection. So the one sided story progresses with body language and symbols expressed by Abhay. Alisha in her youthful exhuberance does not notice singnals form Abhay. One day in her drunken stupor walks dangerously on the garden bridge, with a pond surrounding it. She delicately balances on the balustrade and trips into the water for Abhay to rescue her from drowning. When Uday is about to give mouth to mouth rescutiation she wakes up throwing up water on his face. Thus missing an opportunity to kiss Priyanka ? Star power works Lol. She is quickly escorted by her friends back home only to be chided by her father to get back home, which is obviously Mumbai. How the story takes a twist with lingering one sided love story is padding for the movie.
Abay meets Sid ( Dino Morea ) who is a maverick, and wants to buy the software designed to integrate all the operating systems like Windows, Palm, Chrome, Mac, Linux, etc into one platform and call it as Unity with a symbol U. Abhay takes a break from the meeting to consult his dad for giving the original files of the program, his father cautions him not to give the original software to Sid without confirming the deal. In the meanwhile Dino Morea steals the software by downloading it on his pen drive from the Laptop left behind by Abhay. Abhay refuses to give the original software and instead offers Dino an executable CD. Dino obviously does the vanishing act obviously after thanking him stating that software may be still in its infancy. When Abhay goes to another client to sell his software he is informed that a Singapore based company already has a similar software and is planning to launch the same in the market place.

How dad motivates his son to go out and establish his credentials as the original inventor and retrieve his rights over the product is key to the storyline progression. In the bargain how he once again meets his old flame Alisha and proceeds to reclaim his proprietory product is logical conclusion.

Dino Morea has played his role as marketing maverick to finesse. Uday Chopra who backs up as Nanny for Alisha’s daughter is full of humour particularly at the Dinner hosited by her, in the name of Thai tradition. How he prevents Dino Morea to have a Nightcap is quite capracious. Anupam Kher’s acting as Uday chopra’s father is quite fantastic, without much of histornics. Priyanka carries out her role with sensitivity and glamour which is a rare combo.

Go and check out for yourselves, if the movie deserves a flop or a good movie without audience support. If one wants YRF to produce good movies, audience has to see it to appreciate a good team work. Otherwise the motivation to produce good movies may be off, we will be dished out only items numbers and mindless fist fights in the name of action. I would give full marks to the banner for producing a simple love story with message for the geek generation.
